Deer Shot

This was a personal project created with a number of challenges in mind. I wanted to film a short sequence, matchmove the camera motion and then insert a CG deer. The deer was modeled in Maya using polys and textured in photshop from photographic reference. Fur was added using Shave and a Haircut, and the lighting was achieved using HDRI final gathering. After animating the deer, the piece was rendered using Renderman and composited in Shake.
