Newcomer brings tech skills to Bismarck

Tribune picture

I’m excited to mention a recent article that was written in the Bismarck Tribune, regarding myself and the new Multimedia Technologies program at Rasmussen college. The piece talks a little about my background and goes on to detail some of the features of the new course I will be a part of, as well as where I would like to see it go in the future.

New Position at Rasmussen College

I am pleased to post that I was recently hired as a full-time Instructor of the new Multimedia Technologies program at Rasmussen College. It’s incredibly exciting to be part of this new program, where I am responsible for class/syllabus content and instruction. I’m currently overseeing the build of our new Multimedia lab in addition to promoting the new course to the local and surrounding areas. I’ll be teaching a number of areas including 2D digital design, audio/video editing, 3D animation, portfolio development, web design and media authoring. We will be starting out with an emphasis in Web Design and hopefully after July we will be adding our Digital Design and Animation emphasis which focuses on traditional drawing and 3D animation.

I am really enjoying my new position at Rasmussen. The position is a lot of work but also extremely rewarding and I feel proud to be part of the team!

Hak5 LCD Contest

Hak5 Entry post

While this content is a little old, I still wanted to post an update.

This is a little animation I put together for the internet show Hak5. It was actually created for a contest they set to create some visuals for the on-set LCD monitors. I was pleased to see that they used it in an episode!

Hello all! I’ve finally decided to go ahead and update my website to a new format. The change came about for a number of reasons:

1) I wanted the ability to post blog style entries on the front page, to give visitors easier access to site changes and new information.

2) The old site was very difficult to maintain and meant lots of new graphics and code for something as simple as a new image. I needed a format that allowed for easier updating of new and old content.

3) I don’t really like Quicktime video and was desperate to make the transition to high resolution flash content.

4) The old site really was looking very static and outdated!

All these changes are really down to wordpress. I’m hoping to be able to add new content quite easily, as it arrives. I’m also hoping for more user integration with the comments system and by tapping into facebook etc. Currently the actual content is similar to the old site, with a few new additions so far. In the near future I am hoping to add new material and also work on some visual tweaks to the site.

I hope you enjoy the new site. Any comments, suggestions and criticism are very welcome.
